The $1400 price tag may be hard to swallow however, it is usually on sale to make it more affordable. The unit is beautiful, and the base station occupies very little space in the corner of the room.

The design of this machine addresses the issues we've faced with other robotic mops and vacuum units, such as brushes that get tangled up in hair and the brush not being able to reach bare flooring beneath furniture. The sweeping performance is also impressive on carpets and flooring. The vacuum/mop system has an excellent amount of debris removal and the mop can soak up floors that are not soiled.
The mops also have an intelligent system to clean around the edges of furniture and around walls. The robot is able to effortlessly avoid obstacles such as food bowls, toys and backpacks. It is able to get tangled or entangled with smaller, flatter objects such as shoelaces, USB cables and pens.
We utilized this robot to vacuum and mop a mix of pile carpet tiles, FLOR carpet and hardwood floors in a large, open floor plan. It was able to vacuum and mop the area of 90m2 in 170 minutes using FREO Mind enabled. This is a bit more than the average for Gen 4 robots.

Miele Scout RX3
Miele is no slouches in the robot vacuuming world and has a reputation for quality and innovation. The new Miele robot is designed to take it to the next level by incorporating innovative features and top-of-the-line cleaning performance.
The RX3 has dual suction technology, intelligent navigation with 3D mapping and a camera which transmits a live image to your smartphone for effortless control. The RX3's powerful four-stage system for cleaning offers excellent dust pickup on carpet and hard flooring, while the intuitive swing-out side brushes and dual suction channels keep corners clean. The 8.5 cm height lets it fit under furniture with ease, while front cameras and infrared sensors aid it navigate obstacles and thresholds with ease.
The Scout RX3 impressed us in our tests on how well it cleaned baking powder from baseboards and corners. Its suction of 2,500 Pa was less powerful than some other robots, but it was able to move quickly and was very quiet. It didn't clean, however its washable pads were fiddly to attach and didn't deal with dirt that had dried on.
Its app lacks advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does support Alexa however, its voice controls aren't very intuitive or responsive. It's also unreliable when it comes returning to the charging station following a run -- other robots can trace a previous path or follow a wall until they get to their home however, the RX3 just bumbles about until it gives up and sends a failure message to your phone.
We also had issues with the smart features of the device, namely its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. It was effective in keeping our furniture legs and shoes away but it was easily hung up on cables, socks, and rug. We didn't include the Scout RX3 on our Best Buy list. Still, with a decent price and impressive performance, the Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for an alternative to traditional uprights.
